Help us help Missy

This pretty girl is Missy.  She came to Farplace via another charity a few weeks ago, along with her six kittens.  Missy has never been well and had problems eating.  Blood tests were concerning, and an abdominal scan was recommended, which took place yesterday (19th September).  A small object was seen free-floating in her abdomen, and so we agreed to immediate surgery to remove it.  The tissue that was retrieved from her was then sent off to the lab for analysis, and Missy was kept at the hospital overnight.

The cost of this investigative care is in the region of £1,200 and we are asking for help to cover this fee.

Any money raised above the costs of Missy’s health care will be used to look after the other animals in our care.

To help Missy and all the other animals under our care, you can make a donation at this link.

Thank you.

Stacey the kitten

Stacey is an orphan kitten who came to Farplace Animal Rescue at about 24 hours old after a cat found her and brought her home. She was not that cat’s kitten, so we don’t know where she was found.

When she arrived, she needed round-the-clock care with feeds every two hours, day and night.  We had a couple of early concerns, but with help from our vet she was soon doing well.

Luckily, another new arrival was Tulip who was heavily pregnant. When she gave birth to her 4 kittens, we were able to sneak Stacey in with them.

Although Stacey was already much bigger than the other kittens Tulip didn’t notice and immediately bonded with Stacey.

Once Stacey and her adopted family are grown up and healthy we will be looking for new homes for them.

An update from Farplace Animal Rescue

We currently are caring for 64 cats, 18 rabbits, 15 terrapins and an assortment of other animals. Most of the animals in our care are looking for homes and are on our website www.farplace.org.uk

A few of our animals are resident due to health or behavioural issues, so do not feature on our website, but still need care and attention.

All our cats and rabbits are neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All the other animals in our care receive appropriate vet care too. As you can imagine, our vet costs are huge, and we are always needing donations to help us continue to care for these little friends.

Please could you help support our ongoing costs? You can donate through our website www.farplace.org.uk If you would like to donate directly to our vets, we can give you the details, as it will be very appreciated.

The little girl in the picture is Tilly. She is an old lady in foster care and is not for adoption due to her failing health. She has recently had a scan and has problems with her liver, kidneys, gut, and lymph glands. We are awaiting biopsy results. Tilly is nearly 16 years of age and has mobility issues. She may not be with us much longer, but while we wait for her biopsy results, she is enjoying her retirement at her foster home.

Any help would be appreciated.
